Dear Pastor Glen: If God is Love, then how can He send people to hell?
Signed, Confused.
|
Answer: Dear Confused, I God is a God of love and He has proved that love by loving us while we were yet sinners, God gave his son to pay for our rebellion and disobedience as a way to be reinstated in our relationship with God. The Bible says that, "it is not God's will that any should perish.". He not only made arrangement that our sin could be covered but could be removed as far as the east is from the west. He then gave a guide book to show us how to live a a life that is filled with victory. The Bible is full of example so that we can have models to influence our behavior. The next step is that he sent His Holy Spirit to help us to miss hell and make heaven. Thank you God for rescuing us and offering salvation to all people.

Dear Pastor Glen: I am a teenager and I am just beginning to go on dates. My parents want me to only date the youth that goes to our youth group at church. They said that I should not date anyone who is not a born again Christian. There are many nice guys that don't go to church and could I not be a witness to them by accepting dates?
Signed, "Miss wondering"
|
Answer: Dear Miss Wondering, Your parents are trying to insure your safety and they would feel more comfortable by you dating youth that go to your church. Now is the time in your life when you need to realize that Christ needs to be in charge of all areas of your life. Christ wants to go on every date with you. Successful marriage stats prove that couples who are of the same faith have an increased probability of marriage not ending in divorce. You did not say how old you are but I imagine you are a junior or senior in high school. Perhaps college is just around the corner and you will meet many other Christian men so your potential choices will increase. Enjoy dating and instill Christian values into every date. I recommend starting every date with a prayer. If a person will not pray with you then you should not be with that person. I
was a three sport lettermen in a large high school and every date started with a prayer and I was respected by my stand for Christ.
